The People of Tugboat
It takes a talented crew and some sage guidance to make this boat float. We are an assembly of faithful freelancers headquartered at the Sparhawk Mill. We definitely make a good team. Steve Darnley, Maestro Steve thought up Tugboat in September 2002 and has worked tirelessly to help it grow. His tasks range from account management, new business development, creative direction, designing, production management, bookkeepping, aministrivia, and custodial duties. Arielle Walrath, Freelance Designer, Illustrator, Voice of Reason (website») Arielle tackles sketches, concepts, drawings, illustrations, designs and layout. In her spare time, she helps critique comps and reviews job outlines and proposals. Kevin Brooks, Freelance Web Designer/Programmer (website») Kevin converts our design aspirations into web-ready realities. He's a creative problem solver and consistently overdelivers on his promises. He's a whiz at layout and print design as well. Jacob Halpert, Freelance Web Programmer Jake also makes Web site magic happen for Tugboat clients. He's got a solid list of skillfully built sites and he's quite adept at training clients on how to manage their content as well. Molly Gallagher, Freelance Copyeditor, Public Relations Molly helps get the word out to the press when something newsworthy occurs. She's laser sharp with a red pen when it comes to spelling and grammar as well. Her passion for making a better world fits perfectly in our team. Jody Hoyt, Business Mentor Over the last 30 years, Jody has played a major part in the evolution of a family-owned millwork distribution company into one of the most innovative distributors in their industry. His experiences have helped him develop his marketing sensibilities and a strong consumer consciousness. Jim Hauptman, Creative Mentor Having spent nearly 15 years in the Portland, Maine advertising industry as a freelancer and agency owner, Jim is now a Creative Director at L.L.Bean. Steve cut his marketing teeth at Jim's agency from 2000 to 2001. We first started showing Tugboat stuff to Jim in the spring of 2005, and he has served as a mentor/advisor ever since. |
